The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) and the Victoria Law Foundation (VLF) are jointly committed to promoting greater community understanding of the law through a week-long series of events and activities held in Melbourne and regional Victoria. Human rights is the theme for this year’s program and is presented in partnership with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission.

Guest speaker Victoria Marles, the Victorian Legal Services Commissioner, will guide you through things to think about before you consult a lawyer. She will touch on the importance of good communication, the obligations of your lawyer to inform you in advance about costs, and what to do if you want to lodge a complaint about your lawyer.
